Out Of Body Experience?

What do you think about them? Do you think its normal or a shear form of sleep paralysis? Do you really believe in them. I did a littile surfing about it and found the following site.

I don't think that its normal or a form of sleep paralysis, you can't exactly define this experience. Its not an unbelievable thing too, it can happen but you can't practise it however.

There are many triggers to an OOBE (out of the body experience). Being close to death is just one of them. Drugs and drinks can trigger one too, but they are not recommended. If you wish, you can have an OOBE...anybody can. In fact, all of us leave out bodies when we are asleep. If you want to be conscious when you do it, you must practice a lot of meditation, relaxation, and focus.

I think that it is associated with a physical or mental trauma, use of psychedelic drugs, dissociative drugs, or a dream-like state. Some of those who experience OBEs claimed to have willed themselves out of their bodies, while others report having found themselves being pulled from their bodies, somewhat like paralysis.

I have never experienced obe, part of me wants to but the other part of me thinks it would be rather terryfiying. Particularly as I have experienced sleep paralysis and find it to be a horrible experience.

I've experienced lucid dreaming and astral travel, but never an OBE. I don't really care about OBEs because they don't sound as interesting to me as the other two skills. I have experienced sleep paralysis as well and it was disturbing.

A lot of people would actually say that OBE and astral projection are the exact same thing. If you associate OBE more with projection of your consciousness close to the physical plane, that's still astral projection in the sense that your consciousness leaves the boundaries of physical sensation. Some people call that kind of perception (close to the physical plane) the Real Time Zone.

I have never had an out of body experience per se. Six months ago, I would've said it was all nonsense. A couple of times during meditation, I had the experience of returning to my body. It feels that I have lost time, but I can't be sure. This has happened while meditating with a group with a time limit. Some part of me tells another part of me that it's time to come back. I have no idea what I was doing immediately before that or if I was doing anything at all.

I do remember focusing and then knowing that all life and that all things are connect by one power. Then nothingness and then the coming back. Then something strange happened when I came back, but I'm just not ready to discuss it yet.
