Don't ever feel shy to ask any type of question, if you don't know something then try to gather information about it. There is no shame in it.
Basically astral projection is a term related to something supernatural, it is the interpretation of your body into two parts i.e. the astral body and the physical body. Astral projection is an out of body experience, where you can travel anywhere leaving your physical body.

an astral is a reflection of the soul it comes from. but people who astral are not necessarily aware that they are doing it. they may have no awareness at all, or the experiences may be 'filtered' through a dream. however dreams are interpreted by the sleeping mind, and any concepts or circumstances that the person has no reference to will be misinterpreted in the dream when they try to recall it.

some people deliberately try to astral but again this doesn't mean that they are in control or have clear and accurate recall of what was experienced once their astral form as left their body.
if all you see is 'suffering' then that is all you will feel. look for what is better in yourself and see only that.

basically there is a difference between having an astral and astral travelling. that difference being control and conscious awareness. without that you are having an "out of body experience" rather than astral travelling.

that's how i define things anyway. others may have their own terms and definitons.

You are right. One can become a master of Astral projection only after having an out of body or Astral experience and can separate their soul and see their body as separate entity.

the astral is not a "separate entity". it is a division in your own spirit, but should never be viewed as "separate". a soul, however divided, is still a soul.

I agree with Michael Dans.  Never apologize for asking a question concerning something of which you are ignorant.  I also had no knowledge of this topic until reading the the information here.  I want to learn more about astral projection.  I'll do the research.  Has anyone had this experience?  Please share.

Astral projection is the ability to leave your body. When your physical body sleeps and the astral body leaves, the physical body just rests. No harm can come to you through this.
Everyone leaves their body at night, but before they do leave, they have to put the physical mind to sleep. Most people don't remember this, but when the physical mind is asleep, the subconscious takes over, and this is usually when you do your astral projection. In other words, everybody does it, but they just don't remember doing it. I think that now it will be more clear to you.

i wonder why some people are trying to practice astral projection, when we all do it anyway when we're asleep  as what rahman_abrar says.  some people dies in their sleep, does that mean when their spirits separate they were unable to come in time to save the physical body? i really am confused. i forgot the term for the illness or disorder that kills people in their sleep, i hope it's not related to being in an astral state.

I have heard from somewhere that if a person sees himself dying in his dream then it is possible that he/she may die in reality also. Is this because of unwanted astral projection due to somewhat favourable situations of it?
