A Troubling Omen
« on: August 22, 2012, 07:06:38 AM »
I've lived with the knowledge that my birthday falls on one of the most infamous dates in all of history for some time now August 6th and the bombing of Hiroshima. I've tried to convince myself that this means nothing, but for some reason I keep thinking about it. If anybody could shed some light on the matter I would appreciate it.

hi!  I am new here, The Spiritual Forums which I normally use sometimes are blocked on my new school computer, so found this site.. lol anyways, I am not an adept Astrologer, but I do not think you need to be concerned with this.
I don't think it would be correct to say every person who is born on a certain day is doomed.. I mean a lot of horrible stuff happens right??
Some people do mundane astrology where they look up a chart of a specific event, but I imagine most Astrologers stick with people, and even if you did look at the chart of the bombing, it wouldn't be the same as your chart. For one things couldn't all apply to an event, for 2, you were likely born at a time other than the exact time the bombing began, etc.. there were different stages of the bombing, all sorts of factors that really just make no correlation with a person being born that day. I think it's a frivolous but sad reminder to have that as your birthday, but it won't really effect your life in the manner you're fearful it will..
Your birth chart is a specific map of you and your life, it's an individual thing, even twins have different ones..
I also think our free will determines a lot of how our lives turn out and what we do with the map we were given. take a treasure map for instance (if you were lucky enough to get your paws on one) maybe there is just one major treasure to be found, maybe there are 5 giant piles of treasure spread out, maybe there are little piles of treasure all over on the way there.. so sure you could take one direct straight line route to the treasure, but that's not what life is about. and it isn't mimicking life very well because in life we go many different ways to experience many different things, and it's those experiences actually that make us richer, not the treasure. so you could think about your birth chart in a similar way, and the tools you have began with to start your journey and more tools you pick up along the way, and honing your tools and skills etc.. a birth chart itself is very intricate, but the potential of Astrology is as well. Each sign and planet, etc.. has a negative and a positive manifestation, and I think it is our responsibility as humans to experience and learn, and transform ourselves to manifest as much of the positive as we can.  well I could go on, lol, but I just wanted to tell you not to worry.. and if you are posting in this Astrology section I would hope you would actually take an interest in real Astrology and find out what it can really say about you and your life

Welcome to the forum

Kazina!!! :D
Thanks for your assessment. I guess if we go back far enough in history we can find something bad and something good on every day of the year. I'll take your advice and not worry about it.

I really wouldn't expect that to have any effect on anything to be honest. I mean why would it? Every day of the year has good and bad things that have happened in the past, and will happen in the future.

When I saw this, I looked up my birthday, June 9, and I saw it was the anniversary of the Nazi massacre at Lidice, Czechoslovakia in 1942. This was another infamous day in history, but good things happened too - it was the day Cole Porter was born, and he made some wonderful music. Go back to your birth date and look for something good to balance the bad. It will only affect you if you allow it to.

I agree, look for the good on August 6th and that should balance out your feelings. Besides, you had absolutely nothing to do with the nuclear bomb being dropped and had not incarnated yet. Unless you were actually living at that time, transitioned, and reincarnated again. I'll admit that's a long shot, but who knows.

I suppose those people who may have names like Charles Manson, or Scott Peterson, or Jim Jones, could consider their names to be a "troubling omen," but they either have to live with the name or change it.

Hi,
of course the date of your birthday means something to you. Don't try to convince yourself that it means nothing. It had a huge impact on you. It made you think of .............. many important things. It probably gives a lot of weight and meaning to your life. Some people are born on the 4th of July. Some people are born on other important dates. They are all affected in one way or another by these dates. So are you.
Just think about it: how would you feel if you were born on February 14, Valentine's Day?
