Religious people do not derive their morality from religion. I disagree (with the interviewer) on this point. Almost all of us do agree on moral grounds where religion had no effect. For example we all hate slavery, we want emancipation of women - they are all our moral grounds. These moral grounds started building only a few centuries ago and long after all major religions were established. We derive our morality from the environment we live in, Talk shows, Novels, Newspaper editorials and of course by the guidance of parents. Religion might only have a minor role to play in it. An atheist derives his morality from the same source as a religious people do.

I have read an article by a scientist who studies outer space. And in conclusion, he said that although he does not believe in God, he finds the order in the universe awesome, and that there must be something or someone who designed everything to perfection.

I feel that scientists who. are not necessarily religious, but believe in the existence of God can grasp the existence of everything better than those who don't.

I think there is a great need of balance between Science and Religion. They are two sides of the same coin. There are various proofs of scientists accepting existence of some supernatural and spiritual powers.

After all Scientist are also human. Religious feeling always arises from your heart and beliefs you follow and Science is something which you learned from nature. So I don't think there is anything wrong for a scientist to have religious thinking too.

as long as their religion doesn't interfere with their studies or conclusions, i don't care how religious a scientist is.
if all you see is 'suffering' then that is all you will feel. look for what is better in yourself and see only that.

To be in all honesty I think that it is great to have studies done on things that we find that they think that may be back from the holy books . It is one more part of the truth

I don't feel anything particular towards this topic actually. I believe that just like every human being, they are entitled to their personal preferences - they can be religious or atheists if they want to as long as they keep an objective view on their studies.

I think a person beliefs for a particular religion depends on the concept and principles of his life which he formulated through experience with nature and society. As a case I am a Hindu, but i feel myself more attracted towards Jesus who was not a Hindu. Scientists are no more exception to this theory.

Science is job or may be love of Scientist but i wouldn't say that Scientists in general don't believe in God. It is faith in someone above or someone powerful, that sows the seeds of belief in someone superior than ourselves whom we call God.
