I think we can't exist without our bodies and after death we'll just disappear. It's dark, but I really believe that all we have is here and now... and in some ways it's good because it makes me desperate and I want to really enjoy life to the fullest, I'm afraid of missing any details because there is a big possibility I won't have a second chance. This is what I think...Or we will be surprised with god's existence and we'll go to hell :P. Why are you asking?

Some atheists believe in life after death they just don't believe in God. Personally, I think that the idea of cessation is rather peaceful. If I blink out of existence when my body passes that's fine with me. I'll have no worries, no concerns, no problems to solve, no people to judge, no consciousness to think, no feelings to feel bad. I just won't exist. There is a certain peace in that.

The thing is if a person really embraces that idea then ultimately every action loses it's meaning. There are sociopaths who think along those lines. Like it or not the belief in an afterlife is a big part of why people are as good as they are. Another thing I should mention is that there are plenty of theists who also believe that we should cherish our lives.

I think that according to Catholicism people who don't believe in god will be condemned even if they led 'good lives'. I'm not a Catholic so I'm not sure about it, this is just what my Catholic father always repeats.

I never listen to anybody who tells me I will suffer in the afterlife. Suffering is an idea that seems real only to the sufferer. As such we can change our mind about it.

I'm sure that if there was a god, he would be cruel. Only somebody cruel would create a world like this. So for me it's either hell or nothing and nothing seems much more likely.

You just made an excellent point that maybe 99% of the worlds religions and Spiritualities miss. Only a psychotic “god” would create children with these bodies that we have and create a world such as this to plunge them into.

"What God did not create does not exist. And everything that does exist exists as He created it. The world you see has nothing to do with reality. It is of your own making, and it does not exist."

ACIM

"God did not make the body, because it is destructible, and therefore not of the Kingdom. The body is the symbol of what you think you are. It is clearly a separation device, and therefore does not exist"

ACIM

"This Course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:

Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God."

ACIM

Our mind is far more powerful than most people realize. I believe that when one masters the mind anything is possible.

I personally think that faith and belief should be put in the garbage where it belongs. Why would I want something so useless when there is something much better. If people would do there personal work and develop conscious contact, they could step into the knowing. Most people use their beliefs as an excuse and not the process to awaken.

The fact that we don't believe in God doesn't mean we are against faith. We have faith in life, and faith in ourselves. It's just, we don't believe in a legitimate God and practice the beliefs in the Bible. In general, atheists are logical individuals who dismiss unproven phenomenon and tend to coin religion as a system of manipulation. We are not against faith, but we are against religion, a product of culture rather than a sign of divinity.

Well said, and I agree.
Never become a Christian. If you want to become something, become a Christ. Never become a Buddhist. If you want to become something, become a Buddha.

The slice and I agree. Religion is not truth, and atheism is not truth. But, the truth is out there. Humans are just too stupid to understand...no, we are not stupid? Yes, maybe you are on the right track.

W e are not stupid, just act stupid...why? The answers are there for all of you.
