Of course, there are billions of people living their religious life and most of them are harmless people. But, they are carrying a virus of faith with them, that they transmit from generations to another, and could create a 'epidemic' of faith any time. As I said, I am a kind of person who cares about the truth and also want to see people following the truth. The truth is not a revelation, but truth that has been established though evidences and repeated experiments.

I am not against faith.  I am against it being use to construct laws preventing civil societies from including all of their peaceful members.

Before you say that including all members would allow criminal free reign, "peaceful members" refers to those who respect the rights of others, allowing their neighbor to live unmolested.

Don't worry. Prisons would still exist, but I bet they'd be smaller.

I am not against faith, nor am I against practicing your own faith. I am against people who are bigoted by their own faith, and act as if theirs is the only one worth having. I am against people who do not respect the faith and beliefs of other people, and who could not live in peace with others.

I'm not actually against faith. Well, faith is something that is believed especially with strong conviction. Are you familiar with the story of a child who didn't believed God? A man asks him a question, showing the picture of Jesus, and ask if he knows a man on the picture. The child answer, yes, he was the one who embraced or protect me, when my parents was being killed.

I am not against faith at all. However,  I strongly disagree with people who try to convince others that their faith is the only right one and nothing else is good enough for human beings. I certainly don't enjoy having something that I don't choose to follow imposed on me either.

I am not against faith. Its the faith towards the supreme power (God) which strengthens my feelings and provides me a true power and morale to fight difficulties and problems of my life. Some people find it difficult to maintain there faith in God when surrounded by difficulties.

Faith in and of itself, is blind because the only thing behind it is heresy, belief in some archaic doctrine, belief in an outdated "Holy Book," belief in what your mom, dad, grandma, and other relatives who did little to no research, told you. This not only makes "faith" illogical but it makes it a dangerous concept. Most Americans would agree that blind faith emanating from a Muslim could be dangerous, well, it's just as dangerous when it comes from a fundamentalist Christian. Just look at the people of Westboro Baptist Church, and they are one of many who hold such absurd beliefs, all based on FAITH.

The fact that we don't believe in God doesn't mean we are against faith. We have faith in life, and faith in ourselves. It's just, we don't believe in a legitimate God and practice the beliefs in the Bible. In general, atheists are logical individuals who dismiss unproven phenomenon and tend to coin religion as a system of manipulation. We are not against faith, but we are against religion, a product of culture rather than a sign of divinity.

I'm not against faith - although I find it senseless - but I'm definitely against organised religion. In my opinion religion is a manipulative mechanism, that is concentrated on making people listen to religious leaders and on earning as much money as it's possible. Without religion people would be much more independent and wouldn't have to feel guilty without any reason - for example like when they miss a mass on Sunday. Religion forbids from doing things that in real aren't wrong. Faith is something very private and everyone has a right to it but religion is a mistake that affects us all.

I won't be original, I have the same views on this subject as as most atheists. I think we can't exist without our bodies and after death we'll just disappear. It's dark, but I really believe that all we have is here and now... and in some ways it's good because it makes me desperate and I want to really enjoy life to the fullest, I'm afraid of missing any details because there is a big possibility I won't have a second chance. This is what I think...Or we will be surprised with god's existence and we'll go to hell :P. Why are you asking?

I would like to nuance that a little bit. I think it does matter to make a difference in your perspective on this matter.
I will give you my view on this.

You don't necessarily go to hell if you are an atheist. You go to the dark spheres if you have lived a bad life, if your inner feeling attunes to the dark spheres, if you have done serious and irreversibly wrong to other people.

If you live life to the fullest, enjoy it and do other people no harm, if you love people and enjoy helping them, it doesn't matter what belief you have or how strong you don't belief. Then your inner feeling attunes to a sphere of light and you will end up in there after your death.

The importance to nuance it is to prevent anxiety to come into your heart. That could also lead you to distance yourself from religious people where there is no need for that. Or to make other decisions in life based on fear where there is no need for that.

I was just joking about this 'going to hell', I think that according to Catholicism people who don't believe in god will be condemned even if they led 'good lives'. I'm not a Catholic so I'm not sure about it, this is just what my Catholic father always repeats. In my opinion there is nothing after death so we should enjoy what we have. I'd like to believe what you believe in, but I just can't. I'm sure that if there was a god, he would be cruel. Only somebody cruel would create a world like this. So for me it's either hell or nothing and nothing seems much more likely.

I understand that everything I say can be explained as a way to persuade you to my belief and lead you into a belief system of good and bad. But do you mind if I elaborate a little more on that?
