Bibliomancy is the use of books in divination. Most people use sacred books to receive messages, answers to their questions and such, but any book that is believed to hold the truth can also be employed in divining.
If I don't have a specific question in mind, but I want to receive a message from the Spirit to know what I should be focusing on, I usually go to my bookcase, close my eyes and pick the book that my fingers land on. Then I place the book on its spine and let the pages fall open. Without looking, I point to a place on the open pages and read the whole phrase. I have received many interesting insights this way and since our Higher Self is always there to guide us, I try to heed the messages that I receive even though I don't always understand the reasons for them at that immediate moment.
