Define Divination
« on: July 08, 2009, 03:03:04 AM »
I seem to be getting lost when I read the posts in this section. ???

The threads and the posts seem to be discussing divination from different angles.
One thread is about divination or deity or worship and one thread is about divination as a means of guidance for action.  ::)

Can we have a definition of divination for this section as guide for discussion?

Divination as far as I know, is the way people try to predict the future.  Some examples would be tarot, pendulum, runes, tea leaf reading, etc.

many definitions of what divination is. from my experience divintion is a way of focusing the mind on energies that are already around us. the tool of divination, be that cards, stones, ribbons, flowers or whatever are simply a way to access the spiritual energy of the world around us and focus or it into symbolic represnations that the mind can makes sense of.

It gains an insight into a particular situation by a particular ritual process. The person who seeks divination is able to read the signs, events etc. by being in a contact of a supernatural power. It helps in foreseeing of future and helps in predicting it. It is being forbidden by the religious books like Bible and Quran.

Its a way to make use of our hidden powers to make connection with some supernatural and divine qualities by focusing our mind in its direction and to use it for predicting future.

I think our soul is always in search of inner silence to fight with devil inside us and one can achieve this goal very easily through divination as it involve concentration of our surrounding energy by concentrating on most pleasent aspect of life.

The way I say it, there are many different ways that things can happen depending on our choices. When we do something, the action causes a whole chain of events to happen and that can be a very different chain if only a tiny change occurs. I would say that divination is predicting what is the most likely to happen given the current chain of events and if it stays on course.
