Is Divination a sin? 
Is using divination, more specifically.. rune stones, considered a sin?
 
And can you cite a source that says so?

The ability and desire to use any type of divination tool is a gift given by the Creator. How can it be a "sin"? To say that it is indicates that the Creator isn't omnipotent. I work with oracle cards, magic and spirit guides on a regular basis. The interest in these things was the result of a divine plan for my life and I have never felt as alive or contented. My needs are always met, I have immense joy inside of me and the love I have for the Creator is boundless. I see blessings in my life every single day...and yet I use oracle cards as a divination tool to ensure that my choices and actions are in the greatest and highest good.
If reading tarot or runes is supposed to be a "sin", it is only because that errant notion has been forced on us. You would think that if it was displeasing to the Creator, there would be fewer willing to study divination. But that is not the case at all...in fact, there has never been more of an interest in this than in the last half century. I find it ironic that mounting numbers of people are turning from antiquated belief systems to discover their own spirituality, at this time in history, and is hardly coincidental.
With that said, however, if one considers using runes to assist with making life decisions and encounters very negative feelings about it, don't do it. But one has to make that decision based on the relevant informaton at hand, not what has been preached at them with the express purpose of instilling fear.

Divination isn't a sin for the ethical person who has trained themselves in the art. It is only a sin to the hierarchy that is denied access and the opportunity to manipulate the vulnerable.

Those who use divination to extort funds from the vulnerable, which is much different for being paid for a reading, are committing a crime.  That's a civil matter, not a religious matter.

I don't think its a sin. Its just a gift by God to communicate with yourself.They're just tools for your spirit to communicate with you. Any such tool should be used for the welfare of mankind only otherwise it would cause disturbances.

This is fair untill you are not trying to interfere in the work of GOD, if HE want something to remain hidden from you then why are you trying to reveal it. It is not a sin if you are using it to make yourself known to something but when you try to reveal it to others, it becomes a sin.

if you have read somewhere in a bible that 'god' disapproves of some spiritual/metaphysical practice, then you should quote the reference so we can check in our bibles for ourselves.

a lot of people, sects and religions "interpret" what is written to suit their own argument about what is "sin" and what is not. often it's a matter of wanting all followers under the sway of the preacher or religious organisation to refrain from what they think diminishes their control.

As long as any specific spiritual practice or beliefs not harming others and use by someone to help others or for his own spiritual development, I don't consider it as a sin or anything wrong in it.

Hmmm... for this question there may be various answer. And according to me, it totally depends upon our own discretion which to choose and which to not.

I don't think about it as a sin. I think its a great path that will enable you to flourish and communicate with hidden energy inside you. Through divination you can easily recognized truth as your heart is open to it.
