What makes tarot cards work?
« on: February 19, 2012, 08:28:09 AM »
I have been using tarot cards since 2001. Originally started it to prove to my mother in law that they cannot predict anything - and ended up finding out that they do, indeed, seem to work instead. I have since then recorded several hundred tarot card sessions and their messages for future verification, and find them absolutely thrilling. I-Ching, I found out recently, works just as well. But pragmatic aspects aside - I wonder what we are tapping into here? How is it possible to make these predictions? I have, of course, asked the tarot cards on this myself repeatedly, and their answer was, if I interpreted it correctly, that it is not actually about "cards miraculously appearing when certain questions are asked", but "certain questions being asked when certain cards will be drawn". So, this seems to hint at a human ability to form fitting questions in the mind when certain card combinations are likely to appear. It seems less diabolical than many people seem to see it, which suits me fine. But then, if there is a sinister force behind them, guess what they would be telling me - just that, of course, a message I am ready to accept. So, the question is still open for me.
