Daydreaming or illusion
« on: September 04, 2012, 07:13:02 PM »
I have always been a daydreamer. I now believe it's more into illusion. A illusion is I ()an't believe what I see or feel, ()irumstanes happen and if we do not like it we ()reate our own reality (illusion). What is mind? If Adam and Eve ()an be mesmerized (fooled) why ()an't we? Has Satan beguilled us  as he beguilled Adam and Eve? I think so. Thoughts please. pljames

According to ACIM the world is an illusion projected by the mind, and satan is another name for ego. When we stop believing in ego we realize what true reality is.

DiminishInsanity,
What is the A()IM? Ego to me is my true fallen nature by Adam and Eve. I am saved and have no ego. Yet satan is real to me as a fallen angel. I feel we ()an be beguiled by spiritual for()es we
()annot see. "God is a spirit and must be worshiped by spirit and truth". I ()annot see air but it e()ists. Reality is observation language e()perien()e and belief. Without these words all is left is illusion. Thoughts please. pljames

pljames, ACIM = A Course In Miracles. BTW, what's with all the () ? I understand that the biblical view is different, but ACIM describes ego as the thought of separation. God or Spirit is all-encompassing or one while ego is the opposite. According to ACIM if you still see people as separate from yourself and judge them and hold grudges etc. then you still have ego. In this way ego is satan because it is the opposite of oneness, and it opposes God. These very bodies that we have are in fact a defense against the truth. They would have us believe that there is no all-encompassing oneness and most people need to be condemned. In this way the entire physical universe is hell. It's a place of separation where God is nowhere to be found.

Anyway, the good news is that ego is nothing more than an idea that we give power to by believing in it. The ego is a thought, and without a willing thinker it is nothing. Our Spiritual journey is all about changing our mind about the ego. It's about changing our mind about the decision we made to choose ego over God. Ego is nothing more than a delusion while God or Spirit represents True Reality. Ego is also described as the false self because it's what most people think they are. Most people highly value individuality and uniqueness etc. If you are familiar with the parable of the Prodigal Son ACIM describes our descent into hell along those lines.

P.S. Our situation has been described as "We are asleep in Heaven dreaming the ego dream." The dreamer thinks that the dream is real, but dreams are not real. In this way only Spirit is truly real.

DimishingInsanity,
My ()omputer is old like me and I have two missing letters. The ab() and the w()y. So I improvise. I understand a little about matter be it unformed and be it formed. I believe God ()reated what I see sense feel and understand outside of s()ien()e.I want to believe Gods way (from the bible) that was his way of ()0reating outside of s()ien()e. i ()an't wait until my new ()omputer ()omes. It would seem I understand better when I understand (my way). Eventually I will figure it out but it has to be (my way). Maybe like horse shoes ()lose but not perfe()t).

I am not saying (ien()e is wrong. I believe what I see sense feel and understand is reality to me. I am what I believe. Thoughts? pl

We must all believe and do what we feel is right. I believe ACIM because it speaks to me, but it doesn't speak to everybody. A single theology for the world is impossible. I have a couple of extra keyboards lying around. If you like I could send you one.
