Enjoy misery also the same way like happiness
« on: September 27, 2012, 07:27:23 PM »
The human being is reluctant to miseries and enjoys the happy situation. The human being can be compared to an ignorant child, who enjoys the sweets only and is reluctant to chillies. Hence, such a human being is ignorant. The grown up adult enjoys both sweets and chillies in the meals. Similarly, a realized soul enjoys both happy situation and miseries in the life. Therefore, it is only ignorance, which is the inability of art of enjoyment. God created this world with happiness and misery. People enjoy the cinema, which contains both pleasant scenes and tragic scenes.

Similarly, people enjoy both sweet dishes and hot dishes in the meals. People enjoy the day and night. People enjoy the hot summer and the cold winter. The whole life and creation is full of alternating happiness and misery. If a person can enjoy both happy times and miseries in the life, he is equal to God. You may say that God enjoys the creation from outside. God also enters the creation in the form of human incarnation and enjoys both pleasant times and miseries in the life span. We see this truth in the life history of Rama and Krishna. Therefore, if you always crave for happiness only and reject miseries, it is unnatural and also ignorance of a child. The knowledge of the Gita preaches that you should enjoy even a top most misery, which is the time of death.

If you enjoy both miseries and happy situations, you are in a continuous state of enjoyment. You think that continuous enjoyment comes only through continuous times of happiness in the life. It is not correct. You get bored if you are served only with sweet dishes in the meals. Boring is misery. Therefore, misery is inevitable like summer after winter and winter after summer. The Indians denote happiness through cooling. The foreigners represent happiness through warming, which is heat. Therefore, the happiness to one is misery to the other. What is the reason? The foreigner is mainly exposed to winter, which bores him. Therefore, for a foreigner, the heat is happiness. The Indian is mainly exposed to summer and therefore, cool atmosphere is happiness to him. This is a practical proof that the enjoyment is not confined to happy scene or tragic scene only. This also proves that you can enjoy both happiness and misery. Therefore, it is ignorance to ask God for removal of misery and sanction of continuous happiness. Happiness should lie in the process of enjoyment. Whether it is misery or happiness, you will find real happiness in the process of enjoyment of both.

The happiness neither lies in the sweet dish nor in the hot dish. The happiness lies in the process of eating the dish, which may be hot or sweet. If this secret of life is known, you will never pray God for removal of problems and tensions. You will enjoy the problems and tensions and hence, there is nothing to pray God for something. Your prayer to God must be due to your attraction to Him for His excellent personality. Your praise of God must be based on your love for His divine personality. But, today we find most of the people praying God for sanction of continuous sweet dishes. Therefore, the desire for something gets smashed if you know the secret of this concept. Hence, there is no meaning in wishing somebody for a happy new year because continuous happiness bores and leads to misery only. The aspiration for continuous happiness through out the year is based on foolishness and ignorance.

On the New Year, you must pray God thinking His divine personality and get attracted for His divine quality. You must at least achieve one of His basic qualities, which is enjoying both happy scenes and tragic scenes in the creation. On the Telugu New Year day, people generally take sweets and sour items mixed as offering of God (Prasadam), which shows the same concept of enjoyment of both happy and tragic movements in the life. This is the divine knowledge in nutshell present in all the divine scriptures of all religions. This is essence of the Gita preached by Lord Krishna. He enjoyed continuously in His life and even in the last situation, when He was shot dead by a hunter. This is essence to be learnt and practiced by every human being in this world. This is message of Lord Dattatreya to this entire humanity on the eve of this New Year 2012.

I believe that saints are happy in both good and bad times, but perhaps not for the same reason that you suggest. I don't believe that there is any inherent value in good/bad. Duality I believe is our idea and not God's. The saint is happy constantly because he/she has learned not to take this place seriously. True reality is much better than can be described, and we all come to realize it eventually.

The lives of human incarnations of God are always filled with intensive scenes of pleasure and sorrow. It is just like the plate of meals containing intensive sweet and intensive hot dishes. The intensity of the sweetness and the intensity of the hotness give climax of enjoyment. When the dish is intensively sweet or intensively hot, your enjoyment will always reach the climax. The Gita says that equality is yoga (Samatvam yoga uchyate…). The interpretation of the word ‘equality’ is misunderstood by the scholars. Some interpret that the sweet and hot dishes are equal. This is meaningless because only a mad fellow can say like that. Sweet is sweet and hot is hot. Some other scholars say that your feeling in eating the dishes must become equal so that you are not mentally enjoying both. This is also foolish interpretation because only the tongue of a diseased person becomes inert without grasping the tastes of both the dishes in different ways. For him, the tastes of both the dishes become equal. Therefore, in this interpretation, the tastes of both the dishes become equal. Both these interpretations are totally wrong since the practical experience contradicts such views. Neither the dishes are equal, nor are the tastes of the dishes equal. Such equality is not really yoga. It is only forced misinterpreted yoga. The real yoga is the equality in the enjoyment of the different tastes of both the different dishes.

The dishes are different and the tastes are different. The tastes are not changed during enjoyment. But, finally, the resulting state of enjoyment is one and the same. If you think that enjoyment lies only in tasting sweet dishes, you are just a child with ignorance only. The adult enjoys the hot dishes also in the same manner. In fact, most of our daily meals do not contain sweet dishes. Most of the food is hot and sour only. The sweet dishes are occasionally introduced during the times of rare festivals only. Therefore, the enjoyment of the adults is mainly from hot dishes only. But, unfortunately, the human being always craves for happy situations only and is reluctant to unhappy situations. His attitude in the daily meals is just reversed in his attitude towards life. If you see the life of the human incarnation, most of It is filled with unhappy situations only. That is the natural status of a human being in the enjoyment of daily meals, but, the same human being becomes reverse in his attitude towards the unhappy situations of the life. God created this universe with pleasant and unpleasant phenomena. He enjoys both in alternative way. Any continuous enjoyment leads to boring and therefore, both are equally important and required alternatively to maintain continuous enjoyment. If you can achieve this state of continuous enjoyment from both pleasure and sorrow, you will become equal to God and this is the concept of Advaita of Shankara. But, remember that you are not equal to God in other aspects like creation, control and destruction of the creation.

A producer and peon can enjoy the cinema equally. This does not bring the total equality between them. In producing, controlling and withdrawing the cinema, the producer is totally powerful, whereas the peon is zero. However, this difference is irrelevant in talking about the equality in enjoyment of the running cinema. Such irrelevance is denoted by the word Mithya by Shankara. Irrelevance means negation and absence of other angles, while considering a particular angle. The other angles like creation, control and destruction are unnecessary as far as the enjoyment of creation is concerned because the ultimate purpose is only the enjoyment of creation. If you slip now and then from such continuous state of enjoyment, it is called as Savikalpa Samadhi, which means the state with intervals here and there. If you are in the state of continuous enjoyment like God, it is Nirvikalpa Samadhi, which means the continuous state of enjoyment without any rupture. Such continuous state is finally tested at the time of death. If you stand in the state of enjoyment during death also i.e., if you can enjoy the death also, it is perfect yoga fully certified (Sthitvaasyaa mantakalepi… Gita).

I see things a bit differently. I believe that our incarnations are the result of us choosing against God. In such a way we choose something that does not exist because we are too fearful of Heaven. It's been said that we are asleep in Heaven dreaming the ego dream.

God created this universe with pleasant and unpleasant phenomena. He enjoys both in alternative way.

Most belief systems teach that God created the universe and then try to reconcile all the horror and chaos we experience here with a perfect God. Again, I don't see it that way. According to ACIM God has nothing at all to do with this place. Duality along with the physical universe is our idea not God's.

Any continuous enjoyment leads to boring and therefore, both are equally important and required alternatively to maintain continuous enjoyment.

Well, that's a direct contradiction. I'll say that the "boring" idea can only exist withing the boundaries of linear time. It's nothing more than a "What comes next?" idea. I believe that Heaven lies outside the boundaries of linear time. In fact, linear time was disproven by Einstein back in the early 50's.

I believe that Heaven lies outside the boundaries of linear time. In fact, linear time was disproven by Einstein back in the early 50's.

The earth, hell and heaven come under the plane of materialism (Pravrutti) only. The punishment on the earth and the punishment in the hell differ just by the areas present in the same realm of Pravrutti. It is just the difference between a jail in India and a jail in Andaman Islands in the olden days. Therefore, the postponed sin along with the interest can be met with punishment in the hell or in the next birth. It is one and the same. The serious deeds good or bad will yield results in this birth it self (Atyutkataih Papa Punyaiah Ihaiva Phalamashnute..).

The place and time have no significance. Only the quality and quantity of the nature (good or bad) of a deed and its subsequent fruit destined by the constitution of God are important. As the postponement increases, the interest also increases. You will receive the principle along with the interest in any online branch of the divine bank existing on this earth or in the upper world. Actually the deeds are inert actions and do not follow the soul. Only the essence of the deed which is alive in the form of quality (Guna or Samskara) follows the soul and from the color and intensity of the quality, results are decided by the divine computer called Yama for bad deeds and Indra for good deeds.

Kalabhairava is the over all in-charge of super vision in implementing the results (Karanam Guna Samgosya…Gita). Sattvam is white, Rajas is red and Tamas is black. Therefore, the internal intention (Sankalpa) of the mind which is made of these three qualities decides good and bad of a deed and not the inert subsequent action. The cycle of deeds and its administration is simplified based on the specific quality and its quantity. This is the simplified picture of the system of deeds, which is followed by the judge in the final enquiry. Of course, the total network of deeds with all the minute details also exists inside the system, which can be referred if necessary (Gahana Karmanogatih…).

God is unimaginable. The link between the soul and world with God is also unimaginable because a link between two imaginable items only becomes imaginable.

The actions of God are also unimaginable since the actions of imaginable items are only imaginable. The only imaginable region is about all the items of the world and relationships between those items and the dead boundary of this world (imaginable region) is space.  In this imaginable region there may be some temporary unimaginable regions, which are not analyzed today but one day or other those regions will be analyzed by the science.  The unimaginable region for an ignorant person may be simultaneously imaginable to a scholar like the technology of an electronic instrument.  Of course, even today, there are certain unimaginable regions even for scholars in the deeper planes of the science of world.  Such planes will be known to scholars (Scientists) after some time by the grace of God, because such planes are within the limits of the space. The scientist is misled at this precise point.

Some time back, he did not know certain deeper planes of the world.   Now he succeeded in analyzing those unknown planes.  Due to this, scientist becomes blind with ego.  Based on this success, he feels that he will analyze the final truth of the unimaginable limits of infinite space (world) in future on some day.  This is not correct.  The reason for this is that the planes which were not known to him and which are now known to him are within the limits of space only.  Still, there are more deeper planes which are not known as on today.  In the case of these planes, I assure the success for the scientist because these planes are also within the limits of space. But he should know that on any day he cannot cross the dead limits of space and God is beyond such space.

Since God is the generator of space (Atmana Akashah..Veda), we can touch the edge of God only in the unimaginable limits of the space. We can say that once we have touched the limits of space we have touched God.
