Alternative Therapies
« on: July 27, 2009, 03:47:38 PM »
We go to the doctors when we are not feeling well. It is the most practical and most common practice to cure our illnesses. Are there any other remedies for our sickness, aside from going to the doctor? What are alternative therapies?

For me, prayers is the best. If a doctor can't cure our disease but our faith to God can do. Had you ever experienced that you felt bad and you know that only God can heal? I'm not only referring to physical illness.

i am a great believer in taking nutritional supplements. both as way to prevent disease and to alleviate conditions already suffered.
if all you see is 'suffering' then that is all you will feel. look for what is better in yourself and see only that.

I think that the proper supplements are good precautions against disease, and prayer can be very helpful for many people.

Also when I think of alternative therapies, I tend to think of herbal remedies and I used to think of acupuncture, although these days I think it's pretty much mainstream medicine.

Personally, I do several things:
1 I take health supplements
2 I eat healthy and Exercise
3 I pray
4 I go before the elders of the church and they pray for me as well .
These are the best things that I have found that work for me .
Has anyone else ever went before the elders of the church ?

It's actually our faith could help to overcome our illness. Do you think it's possible to get over of a certain illness without God's will? I guess, prayer is the best thing to do. I don't know if it's right to say that medicine is the next alternatives of prayer?  :)

there are a lot of alternative therapies available out there. there are faith healers, prayer healing sessions, and here in the philippines, we even have elders from tribes or from provinces who heal with different methods, but most are done using pagan rituals.

Have you ever heard about REKI and Faith therapy? There are many scientific proofs of success of such theories. A  prayer done with a true and innocent heart for a noble cause can also be effective to get rid of diseases, ailments and difficulties of life.

Basically most of the people here are right, but the most important thing is to have faith in GOD. The recovery is fast if you yourself want to get well soon. The laughter therapy is the another alternative therapy for a patient. This help in improving the health of a patient. :)

There are many others also like Color therapy  and music therapy which really seems to be helpful in treatment of various diseases and ailments.

Energy healing is an alternative for me. Personally, I hate going to the doctors and even though I trust their opinion and suggestions for remedies, I prefer healing myself with laughter therapy, meditation and prayer. I must say that the combination of the previously mentioned three methods have helped me more than any medication that has been prescribed to me in the past.

I have read about Dr.Herry Edwards who is  known as the master of faith therapy. He treated several  people suffered from Arthritis, Muscular dystrophy, ENT diseases with his faith healing. Beverly Nicholson wrote a book "Powers That Be" on it

I have not read Powers That Be but it goes on my list of books to read, thank you.  Energy healing works, and yes, it does require one to have faith in things that are unseen. Once we go beyond doubt, there are many things that are readily made available to us by the Universe to fulfill all our needs.

Basically main origin of Healing therapy like Faith therapy and REKI is from the energy scattered around us. A Healing Master try to concentrate positive energy for treatment of diseases. Wheres REKI requires a touch to the effected part, Faith Therapy can be performed without even knowing the patient.

Yes, Reiki can be either performed by laying the hands on the patient or from the distance. Energy knows no distance; thus, it is effective regardless of the location of the person who is receiving the healing - as it is mentioned earlier, the only requirement is to believe.
