Is it possible to cure one that stutters/stammers?
« on: January 03, 2012, 03:15:07 AM »
Hello
My partner has a stammer/stutter that he acquired in his youth.
He has tried many methods to cure his stammering although has now given up.
This really does affect his life, as he avoids any form of communication with others and will only chose to speak with me.
This affects him getting a job to just ordering a pizza.
It there any route he could take spiritually that might be worth a try?

Many thanks
Kayleigh

That is not an easy question to answer.  If the stuttering is caused by a physical problem it may be "cured" by a medical professional but if it is because of a mental condition it will be tough and will need to be analyzed.

Another possible cause if the affliction may be Karma related.  Perhaps in a former life he harassed many people who had the same problem and now his Karma is evening itself out.

Can your friend sing?  If so then he can probably find a cure somewhere.

I would say he should try some energy work, especially focusing on throat chakra. If he could have a kundalini experience before this (overloading the root chakra), and move that kind of energy up to the throat, that would be ideal.

I think the last person (Ribiq) has the right idea.  He can definitely be cured.  I've seen numerous famous people (wish I could think of one right now) on tv who said they have overcome it.  Singing, as was mentioned, is a good one.  Stutterers don't stutter when they sing.  He should sing as much as possible.  Meditation could help.  It often comes from a childhood trauma.  I would Google it, if I were you and see what kind of people work with this problem and what they do about it.  He may need a professional.  Do your research and follow your instincts on picking the right help.  Good Luck.
