Abrogation: Kindly enlighten on the following    
Nothing of our revelation (even a single verse) do we abrogate or cause be forgotten, but we bring (in place) one better or the like thereof. Knowest thou not that Allah is Able to do all things? [2.106 Al Baqara]
[One scholar interpreted the above verse of quran as follows:
The Ahl-ul-Kitab (People of the Book) also question the need for a new revelation (Qur'an) when previous revelations from Allah exist. They further ask why the Qur'an contains injunctions contrary to the earlier Revelation (the Torah) if it is from Allah? Tell them that Our way of sending Revelation to successive anbiya (prophets) is that: Injunctions given in earlier revelations, which were meant only for a particular time, are replaced by other injunctions, and injunctions which were to remain in force permanently but were abandoned, forgotten or adulterated by the followers of previous anbiya are given again in their original form (22:52). And all this happens in accordance with Our laid down standards, over which We have complete control. Now this last code of life which contains the truth of all previous revelations (5:48), is complete in every respect (6:116), and will always be preserved (15:9), has been given [to mankind].

Swami replied: The Prophet wants to avoid any further revelation in the theoretical concepts based on monism and special monism that may lead to cruel punishments in future. The Prophet wants that the concept of the Messenger, totally disconnected to the message of God (dualism), shall stand forever so that such cruel ignorant reactions like crucifixion shall be avoided once for all. As long as the totally disconnected dualism of a postman-messenger remains in this world forever, such brutal reactions on divine personalities will be avoided. The Prophet feels that dualism is the actual truth (in view of avoiding cruel punishments of divine people) and special monism (partnership) and monism (human incarnation is God) are only the misinterpretations of the dualism that adulterated the actual truth (dualism).

Islam / Praying 5 Times Towards Mecca

Pagans prior to Islam would pray five times per day towards Mecca. Muhammad retained for Islam, this pre-Islamic practice, sanctioning it with a story of a night trip to heaven on a mythical beast called al-Buraq. In heaven, the Hadith tells us that Allah demanded 50 prayers per day per Muslim. Upon advice from Moses, Muhammed bargains with Allah and successfully reduces it to five prayers per day. Kindly enlighten us on this bargain.

Swami replied: 50 prayers per day indicates the stage of highest devotee who is continuously in the spiritual path, in which both the legs of the devotee are in spiritual boat only since the other leg in the worldly boat is withdrawn. Before reaching this highest stage, a higher stage exists, which is 5 prayers per day. In this higher stage, both the legs of the devotee are in the two boats traveling side by side (spiritual boat and worldly boat). The basic high stage is to keep both legs in the worldly boat only following the justice of pravrutti due to fear from God. The lowest stage is indicating a pure materialistic atheist keeping both legs on the shore of the sea only. The indicated meaning should be understood through the literal meaning.

THE CONTEXT OF THE SATANIC VERSES

Swami replied: When God in human form comes down to this earth filled with ignorant devotees, which is like a mud pond having some fallen children, God is also painted with mud in the process of lifting up the ignorant children. When a powerful bull is running fast, a wise person stops it after following it for some steps even though he caught the nasal rope of the bull in the first step itself. God follows the ignorance of the people for some time to become friendly with them before advising them against ignorance. Even the bird flying at the highest height in the sky has to come down to pick up the low level birds. If you warn them against their ignorance in the first step itself, they will rebel and revolt against you. First you have to accept their ignorant concepts and mix with them as a friend. Slowly, you have to show the defects in their concepts and divert them towards the truth with the lowest speed as far as possible.

Teaching the subject and the methodology of teaching in accordance with the psychology of the students are different. The preacher should be a scholar in both the subject and psychology. Different idols represent different media of God. The different inert idols are representing the different alive human forms of God. When this point is understood, the devotee will leave the idols and comes to the different human forms of God. Then, the oneness of unimaginable God present in all these different human incarnations should be preached so that the unnecessary splits between different human incarnations like Krishna, Buddha, Mahavir Jain, Jesus, Mohammad, etc., disappear and this second stage is the universal spirituality. The only argument for establishing the oneness of God is that He is unimaginable, being beyond the space as the generator of the space. Though there is difference in the different human forms, since the same unimaginable God merged with all these different human forms to be treated as that unimaginable God Himself, all the human incarnations are one and the same from the angle of this one God. From the idol worship to the worship of contemporary human incarnation to the worship of the single unimaginable God through different human media are the different heights (one after the other) of different flying birds (spiritual aspirants).

Meaning of Qur'an (2:30 - 33):

Kindly give right meaning of the following verse:
God says to the angels in the Qur'an (2:30 - 33): “‘Verily, I am going to place mankind generations after generations on earth.’ They (the angels) said: ‘Will You place therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood, while we (the angels) glorify You with praises and thanks and sanctify You.’ God said: ‘I know that which you do not know.’

Swami replied: The point of angels is to praise the unimaginable (or even invisible Father of Heaven) God through theoretical devotion instead of the practical devotion in the form of service to human incarnation that results in shedding blood by crucifixion. God replied that He knows more than the angels. The angels are energetic forms and can’t crucify the energetic incarnation of God since energy can’t be destroyed like matter (in the sense of a layman and not in the sense of conservation of mass of a scientist). But, the program of God is for the sake of humanity having materialized bodies in the case of which crucifixion is possible. The theoretical truth of human incarnation is to be expressed to the humanity in spite of its violent reaction.

After all, in sometime, the truth has to be revealed and this point is not in the minds of angels as indicated by God through the last statement.

Vastu, muhurta and remedies advised in Astrology

The presiding deities of the planets are controlled by various forms of God in turn indicating the God Himself.

The astrology-ladder leads ultimately to God only.

The vastu and muhurta are only the partial components of the astrology and cannot totally control any result

God is the ultimate authority and the planets are simply the executing officials of His will in the direction of reformation of the soul

A sinner cannot escape the results of his sins simply by getting good advices in vastu and muhurta.

Finally everything happens according to God’s will only.

The destiny, which is the will of God, finally sees that good comes to good people and bad comes to bad people

Every person has both good and bad fruits and there is no absolute good and absolute bad person


Shri Swami replied: Astrology consisting of certain precautions to be taken in vastu, muhurta and remedies advised on studying  the horoscopes etc., need not be separated from the spiritual knowledge. There are two levels in the spiritual path: 1) The initial level in which God or His unimaginable powers called as planets (actually the presiding deities of the planets) have to be prayed and worshiped for the sake of worldly problems. This is a business level, which is one and the same in the spiritual knowledge as well as astrology.

2) The second higher level of spiritual knowledge is to worship and serve the God leaving this lower level of business. Here, the astrology vanishes because it is only in the lower spiritual level dealing with God or planets with unimaginable power.

The first lower level of spiritual knowledge was not different from astrology in the ancient days. Later on, astrology with the names of planets and spiritual traditions with the names of forms of God are separated because the astrologers and priests liked to separate their business fields while exploiting innocent public for their earnings. The initial level is always with defects, which are unavoidable since the beginners are with several defects, the main defect being high selfishness (sarvarambhahi- Gita).

The presiding deities of the planets are controlled by various forms of God in turn indicating the God Himself. Thus, the astrology-ladder leads ultimately to God only. The vastu and muhurta are only the partial components of the astrology and cannot totally control any result. If a sinner is not to get good results of vastu and muhurta, he will meet a wrong astrologer only and enjoys his bad fruits. A person, who has to enjoy good fruits only meets a good astrologer and gets good advises to enjoy his good fruits. Even if the bad/good person meets good/bad astrologer, their brains will lose faith in the astrologers. The destiny or fate works here, which is nothing but the inevitable implementation of the results of the actions ordained by God at that time. All this procedure is only the implementation part of the fruits by the officials in the direction of the will of God. God is the ultimate authority and the planets are simply the executing officials of His will in the direction of reformation of the soul. Therefore, a sinner cannot escape the results of his sins simply by getting good advices in vastu and muhurta.

If God’s will is that the sinner should be punished at a specific time, bad astrologer will come in his contact and will lead to the bad result through wrong vastu and wrong muhurta, which are thought to be good by the bad astrologer. If God’s will is that even a sinner should be given some gap in the enjoyment of the bad fruits, a good astrologer will help him in that direction. An astrologer is also a human being and can err sometimes giving opposite predictions. In view of all these factors, finally everything happens according to God’s will only. The astrology is only the subject of the mechanical implementation of the fruits as per the will of God in His psychological treatment of His issues. Sages have written both good and bad vastu and muhurta. The destiny, which is the will of God, finally sees that good comes to good people and bad comes to bad people. But, in the course of the treatment, even a good person may have to be given the bad fruit and vice-versa as per the will in the treatment by God. Every person has both good and bad fruits and there is no absolute good and absolute bad person. Hence, you cannot say that one person is absolutely good or bad. This is a very complicated cycle differing from one case to the other as per the procedure of the treatment done by God, which is also highly specific to each case. Generalisation of all the cases is impossible since the analysis of even a single case brings lot of head-ache when you consider all the supporting and cancelling curves in the path of implementation.

The scientific procedure of the results by the unimaginable powers of God, called as the presiding deities of the planets, is expressed as astrology by the sages Parashara and Jaimini with the grace of God only. No doubt, the good vastu and good muhurta are expressed in astrology. But, before you catch that good muhurta and good vastu, so many forces play in between and there is a long way between the cup and lip. Before you sip the coffee by your lip from the cup, anything may happen including the final destruction of the world (Maha pralaya)!

I give an example for this. My father was a great astrologer. My father sympathised a poor priest and suggested him to put a small hut at least in his site on one muhurtam (auspicious time), which, according to him can possibly come after sixty years only. The priest did not follow the advice of My father and sold the same muhurtam for just hundred rupees to four farmers, who raised huts in the same time in their fields far from their petty village, called Vamanapalem. The priest presided over the function of foundation of the huts of the farmers and could not use it for himself. Those four huts developed tremendously and became a big village with in very short time and slowly became a small city called Jayapuram! Therefore, the play of destiny is very powerful and the person will close his eyes and walk in the way till he crossed over the lump of gold placed by Goddess Lakshmi to favour him. In spite of all these, the unimaginable relationship between good or bad and a particular time or specific dimensions of the rooms in the house is unimaginable.


 I know several people, who criticize astrology externally and follow it secretly saying that their wives insisted on it! I hate such hypocrisy. We cannot deny such major lot of humanity believing in astrology, especially when there is a fair opportunity to correlate the astrology with the spiritual knowledge. When there is a way for compromise, clash is unnecessary and it is our duty to show the spiritual path to this major lot, which quotes countless instances of correct predictions throughout the world.

Astrology is well believed science throughout the world. You yourself wrote a message about the prediction of Nostradamus on My delivery of this spiritual knowledge. A genius scientist from the part of a country surrounded by three seas will come in future to correlate all the religions in this world by which the borders between religions disappear. Is it not exactly true in My case? These predictions should not be taken as mere outcomes of astrology, but also, should be taken as the foretelling of future by the blessing of God. Astrologers worship God to a great extent for achieving the accuracy in the predictions. Lord Dattatreya is supposed to be worshiped in this aspect. Hence, the spiritual knowledge is inherently blended with the astrology and correlation in the concepts can be easily achieved by the sharp analysis. Jesus criticized astrologers in His time since they were trying to reduce the importance of God and spiritual knowledge and were trying to establish that everything proceeds by the control of planets, which are other than God. Jesus criticized such misinterpreted astrology projected by the atheistic astrologers. We will also throw away such atheistic form of astrology.

 In essence, God is the final authority in the case of any unimaginable aspect. You will attain everything, good or bad by the will of God only, which is the destiny of your so called destiny. However, this does not bind you to the concept of fate because this world is karma loka giving you full freedom to develop or destroy yourself. The freedom runs in parallel with the psychological treatment done by God without interfering each other. The parallel line of freedom shows the results of the treatment done by God. If there is a real change due to the treatment, it gets reflected in the parallel line of freedom in which you act freely without the influence of any other factor. The treatment and the test of the signs of the betterment run as parallel lines as components of the divine program of the psychological cure of the soul by God.

God does not care for the astrology because it is only His way of arrangement of the duties to be performed in His divine administration. His will only gets implemented finally even if you carefully study the constitution of His administration. Kauravas fixed the Amavasya as the muhurtam for the war in which the victory is certain, as per the advice of Sahadeva, the opponent, who follows the principle of giving correct advice in astrology whoever may ask for it. Lord Krishna fixed the muhurtam one day before Amavasya on which the defeat is certain. Lord Krishna started doing the Amavasya-ritual one day before. The Sun and Moon were confused and appeared before the Lord stating that tomorrow is only Amavasya. The Lord asked them the day by which Amavasya can be recognised. Both told that when Sun and Moon come together, it is recognised as Amavasya-day. The Lord told that since both are together, that day itself must be Amavasya! Finally, the will of God prevailed over everything and even the presiding deities of Sun and Moon planets could not stand wise before the Lord. Hence, astrology cannot do anything against the will of God.

My father used to force Me to give predictions in astrology and concentrate on the subject. He thought that I had no interest in the subject and hence is not studying it deeply. I wrote a commentary in Sanskrit on Jaimini sutras in astrology in one week and presented it to My father. My father studied it and was astonished to see the ideas in the commentary and stated that the points invented by him in the span of 50 years of study were totally presented in the commentary. My father told that in spite of such deep knowledge, what is the reason that I do not take interest in astrology! I told “I am interested in the spiritual knowledge and both philosophy and astrology can be called as Jyoutisha Shastram, which means that it is the subject of light (Jyoti). The nine lights are the planets and the light supplying radiation to these nine lights is called as the ultimate light as per the Veda (param jyotih...). Hence, I also concentrate on Jyoutisha Shastram. The difference between you and Me is only that I am interested in the ultimate light and you are interested in the nine output lights”. Since then, My father never forced Me in this point.

Astrology is considered to be one of the six shastras believed by our ancient people from a long time, which was used to decide the time of performance of a sacrifice. However, we need not give any weight to the subject if it contradicts the sharp logical analysis in case it contradicts the real spiritual path. If you filter out the astrology of the recent selfish and commercial astrologers, I find no opposition by astrology to the spiritual path. In view of the lot of majority following it sincerely quoting several instances of true predictions, in the light of existence of unimaginable events called miracles indicating the unimaginable God, in the light of possible co-relationship with the divine administration of unimaginable God and in the view of smooth merge of these believers with the subject of spiritual knowledge, I find no need to throw away the astrology as the enemy. When the ideals are exactly same, two political parties merge together and there is nothing wrong in such union. All the contradictions between the two subjects are superficial only and find unity on sharp logical analysis. Astrology was called as Jyoutisha shastram (subject of light) since it was part of philosophy, which is also the subject of light. The light in both the subjects was the ultimate light or absolute God only. The astrology was also thus, related to the subject of ultimate light only and in due course of time, it was separated as the subject of nine output lights. Even these nine output lights are only the executing officials of the administration of the ultimate light, astrology is not contradicting philosophy even today.

O Learned and Devoted Servants of God,

 Dr Nikhil asked: Can you co-relate the concept of cycle deeds to the concept of the astrology, which includes the study of horoscope, the auspicious time and the construction of house?

Shri Swami replied: Today, there is a large lot of humanity that believes in astrology based on the long period of time during which experiences were clearly supporting the concepts of astrology, which were mainly composed by the sage Jaimini and sage Parashara. The scientific logic certainly misses in the astrology, if you consider the inert planets affecting the lives of human beings. However, this point is not properly represented since the alive energetic forms blessed with the unimaginable powers of God control the entire life cycle of the human being. In this way, the deities of the inert planets representing the unimaginable powers of God represent indirectly the unimaginable God Himself. The administration done by the Governing officials is said to be the administration of the Government itself. Thus, the boundaries between the philosophy or divine knowledge and astrology disappear. Philosophy says that everything is administered by God directly. Astrology says that various unimaginable powers of God called as presiding deities of the planets govern the entire administration. The cycle of deeds means the actions done by the souls relating to the corresponding fruits.

Scientists do not believe astrology due to the misunderstanding that the inert planets in the space control the human life. Certainly, science is correct since such misunderstood concept is impossible and wrong. The real concept is that the unimaginable powers of God called as planets are only controlling the human beings. Since science keeps silent about the unimaginable concept, science does not negate astrology, but, is silent about astrology in the real light of the true concept. Atheists negate astrology because they negate God also since they discard the unimaginable concept. Philosophers also keep silent about astrology feeling that the planets are different from the controlling powers of God called deities with different names. They accept the deities but not the planets. In fact, the presiding deity of planet and controlling deity in philosophy are one and the same. Philosophy speaks about the deity Yama and Astrology says the same Yama as Shani (Saturn). Both are sons of the Sun only. Saturn is said to be deity of knowledge (Jnana kaaraka). Yama also gave excellent spiritual knowledge to Nachiketa. Hence, the contents are the same and the names are only different.

If you say that the predictions of astrology are false, the miracles are also said to be false. The common area of foundation of unimaginable concept exists in both the fields to the same extent.

Mostly, the people believe in unimaginable events and unimaginable God with 50—50 probability in both philosophy and astrology. A real co-relation between astrology and philosophy exists if both the fields are analyzed in the light of the truth. The astrology lost its relationship with spiritual knowledge by treating the planets as different entities from God and as the absolute controllers of the world neglecting the concept of God. In course of time, astrology fell in the hands of atheistic Buddhists. Even there, the concept of unimaginable influence of the planets on the world proves the existence of unimaginable God in the end. Thus, astrology does not deviate from the spiritual knowledge at any time. If you observe the remedies suggested by the astrology, such remedies are only prayers to different forms of God as the controlling deities of the presiding deities of the planets. This again shows that the different forms of God representing the unimaginable powers of God only control the presiding deities of the planets assuming that they are different from the powers of God.

Lord Shiva controls Jupiter and Saturn. Lord Vishnu controls Saturn and Mercury, Lord Subrahmanya controls Mars. The Divine Mother Durga controls Rahu. The Divine Mother Lakashmi controls Venus and Moon. Lord Adisesha controls Ketu. Lord Sun controls Himself. Prayers to these forms of God pacify the planets. This means that the devotion to God through these forms show the real path of liberation.

 The donation of certain specific food materials to poor hungry people related to these planets also introduces the concept of sacrifice. Sun is related to wheat, Moon is related to rice, Mars is related to Red gram etc. In this way, astrology is indirect form of the philosophy appearing to be more pragmatic, promising immediate relief to the level of normal human beings, who are built-up by the material called selfishness. Even in the spiritual knowledge, the same basic level exists as worship to God to get rid of the burning problems of life. The basic level of the spiritual knowledge indirectly presented is astrology. When you go to the higher level in the spiritual knowledge, you can leave the direct basic level of spiritual knowledge along with the indirect astrology. In the higher level, you are expected to get rid of the selfishness and concentrate on the work of God becoming His divine servant.

The work of Karmachakra denotes the cycle of actions and corresponding fruits to be enjoyed by the human beings in this world as well as in the upper world. Astrology denotes the various powers of God directing the cycle of implementation of the enjoyment of these fruits by the souls. The higher spiritual knowledge is suitable to the higher level devotees, who feel bad about doing businesses with God. Of course, at the basic level of spiritual knowledge, the devotees do not feel bad about doing business with God. For such basic level, philosophy and astrology are one and the same. The devotees going to higher level in the spiritual knowledge do not like to do business with God, but, still want to do the businesses for the worldly problems. Such so called higher level devotees in the spiritual knowledge worship the planets assuming them as other than God for the worldly business. Thus, their psychology is satisfied since they are not doing business with God and at the same time, do business with the planets for worldly affairs. In the highest level, one realizes that planets as well as other deities are not different from God since root source of all the unimaginable powers is only the unimaginable God. Hence, they get completely detached from this business based on selfishness.

Priests propagated the worship of various forms of God and astrologers propagated the worship of planets in this business of exploitation to earn money. Due to these selfish people only, astrology and spiritual path appeared as separate lines. Otherwise, both the subjects are one and the same revealing the existence of unimaginable God through unimaginable concepts.

Any effort becomes effective if your energy is preserved without wasting it in unnecessary things. Preservation of energy is fundamental of Yoga. Even if your effort is perfect, you shouldn’t have ego that perfect effort must give the perfect fruit. Your effort must be perfect and at the same time you must not have this ego, in the place of which you should have firm faith on God that if the grace of God is absent, no effort can succeed to get the fruit. The fruit is given by God and not by the effort. However, your effort must be perfect. Otherwise, God will not give fruit to a lazy person without effort. If effort alone can give the fruit, all the efforts must have succeeded. We are observing that sometimes even perfect effort is failing. Very important point is that if your effort is without aspiration for any fruit in return and is only confined to practical sacrifice and service based on real love to God (as in the case of your issues), such effort gets not a petty fruit, but, gets God Himself as the fruit, who is the giver of all fruits! The first stage is to worship God for getting fruits and this is the introduction of attraction to divine personality of God as seen in the prior part of the Veda (Samhita, Brahmana and Aaranyaka). The second stage is to worship God without aspiration for any fruit due to real love as seen in the latter part of the Veda (Upanishat). All the Veda finally aims at the development of only real love to God and hence the Upanishat is the ultimate part of the Veda.

The real path to please God is practical devotion, which is sacrifice and service to God


Knowledge is the root cause that generates the devotion by which the practice results that leads to the fruit. The knowledge of various places of attraction in Mumbai city generates lot of force of anxiety to reach and see Mumbai and such force on intensification results in the action of journey to Mumbai by which the fruit of seeing Mumbai is achieved. Similarly, the knowledge of God (goal) generates anxiety to reach God and get His grace to God by which the grace of God is achieved. 1) First, you must know (Jnana Yoga) that you are not the very Mumbai city (God) and that you are a human being only different from Mumbai city (God). If you are already the Mumbai city (God), you need not develop anxiety and interest (Devotion or Bhakti Yoga) that results in practical effort (Karma Yoga) to reach the city (God). All this is knowledge of yourself. 2) Then, you must know about the details of God that God is unimaginable, but, mediated in human form for the sake of humanity and human incarnation alone is relevant to humanity. All this is the knowledge of God or goal. 3) Then, you must know that the real path to please God in human form is not only mere knowledge and not only mere theoretical devotion. The real path to please God is knowledge based-theoretical devotion based-practical devotion, which is sacrifice and service to God.


The knowledge of these three steps is called as knowledge of triad (Triputi Jnana). After having perfectness in the knowledge of these three steps only, practical devotion must be implemented, which leads you to the correct goal and achieve correct fruit. If such knowledge is incomplete or erroneous, you will travel in wrong path to reach wrong goal and get wrong fruit. Knowledge decides direction and right direction given by right knowledge alone gives you right goal. Your theoretical and practical devotions may be perfect and terrible, which are of no use if the direction given by knowledge is wrong. Even if devotion is weak, if the direction is correct given by right knowledge, you will certainly reach the right goal even slowly. If the goal is Delhi, even a fast runner running in the opposite direction reaches Chennai only and not Delhi. Even a normal walker in right direction reaches Delhi, may be after long time!

Creation is unreal only to God not to soul
The items of this creation are created just for play by God


The items of this creation are created just for play by God and hence it is proper to say that these are unreal to Him. If the world is also true like God, what is the necessity of salvation from truth (world)? Salvation is always desired from unreal to attain real (Asatomaa… Veda). Hence, it is proper to say that creation is unreal and God is real. But, this concept of unreal world-real God is limited to God only. The human being is a part of this unreal world and hence it is also unreal. Unreal must be real to unreal. Hence, unreal world is real to the unreal human being (soul). This is also proper for a petty human being.

If you say that God created real (product) from real (cause), it is not very great to suit to the highest status of God. If you say that this real world (to you) is created from unreal (to you), it indicates the highest status of God by causing surprise as in the case of unrevealed magic. Creation of real from unreal (Asatkaaryavaada) is stated by the Veda (Asadvaa… tatovaisat…). You shouldn’t say that Asat (unreal) means hidden Sat (real). It means that I have brought out an article hidden and exposed to you saying that I have created it! This is petty magic and not great miracle. Miracle suits to the highest state of God and not magic. If God brought out a really non-existing article (Asat) to expose it as the existing article (Sat), it is a real miracle suitable to the highest status of God unlike magic.

Some scholars plead for exposure of real (Sat) from real (Sat) and this is creation of real (world) from real (God) termed as Satkaaryaavaada. This is also correct because the source of the unimaginable power (Maya) to create real from unreal is the real God. Here, the real world (to you) is the product and the root cause is the real God and not the intermediate maya that creates real from unreal Maya. Maya is unimaginable power, which is real. It creates real product from unreal cause. Here, Maya or unreal or Upadana is the direct material cause for the real world like mud for pot and Maya or real or Nimitta is the designer cause like potmaker. The word Maya stands for two different items. When it stands for the meaning of the wonder, it is real and not different from unimaginable God. If it stands for the meaning of non-existence, it is unreal standing as the direct material cause for the world. If the world is taken as the product of real Maya or God, it is Satkaaryavaada (real produced from real). If the world is taken as the product of unreal Maya, it is Asatkaaryavaada (real produced from unreal).

In the first case (real God or real Maya generating real world), you must note one point, which is that real God means absolute reality and real world means relative reality. The reality of cause and effect in this case is not in one and the same phase and this case is also stated in the Veda (sadeva somya…). Creation of real from real (both reals must be equal) is not great to suit to the status of God. Scholars prefer this Satkaaryaavaada than the above Asatkaaryaavaada because the worldly logic doesn’t agree the creation of real from unreal since even in the magic the hidden real is shown as creation of real from unreal and this hidden real is impressed on your mind as unreal! But, My friends are forgetting the main point that the worldly logic does not apply to the unimaginable power (Miracle) of God. Therefore, creation of world is an inexplicable miracle (Maya) and not explicable magic (Indrajaalam). Of course, you can take unrevealed magic (appearing as miracle) as a simile to miracle. If you take God (absolute real) as the root cause and say that the real (relatively real) world is produced from God, Satkaaryavaada becomes correct provided you know the difference between absolute reality of God and relative reality of the world. At the same time, Asatkaaryavaada is also correct because the direct cause is unreal (relatively also unreal) from which the real (relatively real) world was produced. Hence, the Veda mentioned both options, which don’t contradict each other if you note above mentioned differences.

The items of the world are unreal with reference to real God. When the real God merges with an unreal item (human being) of unreal creation, such unreal item also becomes real. A charcoal piece merged with fire becomes fire to burn your hand, even though charcoal itself can’t burn anything. Real is very powerful and unreal is very weak. The body of an ordinary human being can’t withstand the swallowed molten lead and also can’t pass through the bolted doors. The reason is that the unreal lead and unreal door are real to the unreal body. But, when the unreal human body is merged with real God, it becomes real to withstand unreal molten lead, to pass through unreal bolted doors and even to lift the huge unreal Govardhana hill! This clearly means that the devotees worshipping the human incarnation are directly worshipping the unimaginable God without any technological trick! This shows the omnipotence of God to make any impossible to become possible, if it is proper to do so!

Ways to reduce tension due to family bonds

Detachment from family bonds


Spiritual knowledge does not say to leave the family bonds for attaining the attachment to God

Detachment from worldly bonds is only a spontaneous consequence of
the attachment to God

   Detachment from worldly (family) bonds is a very careful and delicate concept to be understood with proper spirit. It is very very easy to disturb this concept by even very mild misinterpretations. Detachment from family (worldly) bonds shall be understood in the following two angles. (a) The worldly bonds are never dropped, better to say, that they can never be dropped by any human soul with effort. This is not the meaning of the word detachment. If somebody drops the family bonds with effort, it is not only foolish but also useless. By detaching the worldly bonds with effort, the attachment to God is never attained. Only people having troubles with family bonds or trouble of poverty leave the family bonds and go out for peace or for earning money or food.

Sage Vyasa told that He is lifting up both His hands and is shouting about a concept again and again because it is misunderstood (Urdhva baahur viraumyatra..). Similarly I am also shouting again and again like sage Vyasa that the spiritual knowledge does not say to leave the family bonds for attaining the attachment to God. What the spiritual knowledge exactly says is that a human soul attached to the attraction towards God always is detached from the worldly bonds. Detachment from worldly bonds is only a spontaneous consequence of the attachment to God and there is not effort here. (b) Detachment from family bonds can be explained without reference to the spiritual knowledge and with reference to the worldly knowledge itself. When you are attached to the worldly bond, you are undergoing tension due to your fascination to that bond. If you are detached from that worldly (family) bond with your mind and perform all the required responsibilities, you will never get tension about that family bond. Here, the word detachment does not mean leaving that family bond externally and go out. Here detachment means only internal detachment in the mind so that the specific family bond can never give you mental tension at any cost. Detachment also does not mean detachment from the responsibilities or duties to be done to the family bonds. It only means doing all the duties to the family bonds without internal attachment or fascination to avoid any tension in the mind.

 If the fascination is reduced due to attraction to God, it also helps in the world by avoiding tensions from the worldly bonds. Another advantage of this is that if fascination to family bonds is reduced due to attraction to God, sins like corruption also get controlled. The main reason of corruption is only the fascination to family bonds.

The word detachment is easily misunderstood as leaving the family bonds and going out or leaving the justified responsibilities to be done to the family bonds. One should be detached to family bonds leaving their welfare on God and at the same time perform all the responsibilities. Leaving the welfare of family bonds to the care of God does not mean leaving responsibilities towards them. Such leaving of welfare to God can bring perfect peace in the mind and absence of tension. These concepts should not be misunderstood in different way to blame the spiritual knowledge.

Qn.)One of my Christian friends asked me that in Hinduism there is punishment of sinner whereas in Christianity Jesus always excused the sinner. What is your comment on this point?

Swami Replied: Christianity also speaks about hell and liquid fire punishing the sinners. The divine concept is always one and does not change with the change of one religion to other since there is only one God in all the religions. The one concept of one God cannot change as per the change in the religion, which is created by human beings. The same concept exists in different languages of different religions in the world. Jesus was called as Immanuel, which means that God in human form came to save His people. This does not mean that God is saving all the people. God saves only His devotees (people), who are reformed. The sign of reformation is not to repeat the sin practically from today onwards. If one stops a sin of one type, all the previous sins of that type get cancelled.

The type means the category of a specific sin. For example, if one stops corruption, all the previous sins related to corruption only get cancelled. If one stops all types of sins, all categories of past sins get cancelled. But, the sin ends only by the enjoyment of punishment (Avashya manubhoktavyam…). To satisfy this clause present in the divine constitution, God suffers the punishments of sins of such reformed devotees, who are called as His people. When God suffers, the main rule stands without violation or exception in any case. Moreover, when the reformed soul notes that God suffered for his sins, a strong impression of sympathy will stand in the mind so that the concept of reformation is strongly remembered by the soul. Such sympathy will solidify the memory of reformation in the mind of the soul. Except this one path, a sin done will never disappear.

Gita says that one can cross the sin through the spiritual knowledge

Qn) But priests say that the sin is cancelled through worships, which is another way to cancel the punishments of sins. How is this?

Swami Replied: The above quotation clearly says that any deed cannot get cancelled without enjoying its ordained fruit. But, the Gita says that one can cross the sin through the spiritual knowledge, which alone is the path (Sarvam jnanaplavenaiva vrujinam santarishyasi). The Gita also says that there is no other way to purify the soul except knowledge (Nahijnanena sadrusham pavitram…). The Gita also says that the knowledge fire can smash any deed (Jnanaagnih sarvakarmani…). All these prove that this spiritual knowledge alone can reform the soul by stopping the practical repetition of a sin. The logic in this is that the previous psychological setup or subconscious state is the nature (prakruti or samskara or vasana), which is nothing but the wrong knowledge produced in the soul through millions of previous births. The wrong knowledge can be removed only by right knowledge and not by anything else. A diamond can be cut only by diamond.

The need of the hour is establishing the right knowledge that gives clarifications removing the wrong knowledge induced by misinterpretations. We have clearly seen that except reformation through right knowledge, no sin gets cancelled. The priests have introduced this misinterpretation so that all the sinners will do worships of God to get rid of the punishment of their sins. This misinterpretation was done by priests based on their plan for earning money through worships. Such wrong knowledge gets solidified and forms the rigid subconscious state, which influences the analysis done by intelligence. Only the powerful right knowledge coming from divine incarnation like Krishna, Buddha, Jesus etc., can alone destroy the power of subconscious state so that the human soul can take right decision based on right knowledge without getting affected by the subconscious state smashed by a right knowledge. Hence, the need of the hour is right knowledge that removes the misinterpretations inducing wrong knowledge into the brains of human beings. There is enough devotion, enough sacrifice and enough service, which are being done towards God for the sake of fruits in return. Doing service and sacrifice without any fruit in return is also introduced by right spiritual knowledge only. This is the main reason for God to come in human form and preach the right spiritual knowledge.

Recitation of Prayer Will Not Cancel Any Sin

  Qn)In reciting prayers on God, every prayer tells at the end that by reciting this prayer all the sins get destroyed (sarvapaapaat vimuchyate). This statement is becoming a lie as per the above explanation. Is it not?

Swami Replied: When a mother is giving food to her child, she says that the moon will come down if the food is taken by the child. She is repeating this in every meal. No doubt, this is a lie. But, the lie is doing good in long run by giving good strength to the child and makes the child to grow more and more. Such a lie is not cheating. Will a mother cheat her own child? In view of the long run benefit, this is not a sin. This is called as ‘Artha Vada’, which means a lie told for a good purpose.

Certainly, except reformation through spiritual knowledge, no recitation or worship will destroy the sin. The recitation or worship will have its own good fruit. But, the cancellation of bad fruit by a good fruit can never happen. One has to enjoy both good fruits and bad fruits separately for their corresponding deeds in heaven and hell respectively. Fruits of intensive deeds are enjoyed in this birth itself, which has an additional advantage to give practical proof for the action and its fruit. No good fruit can cancel any bad fruit. Hence, recitation of the prayer to God will not cancel any sin.

But, long run recitation of prayer or worship to God can make the devotee to become more devoted to God and gradually understand the personality of God, which is to encourage good deeds and punish bad deeds. By this knowledge of personality of God, whom the devotee is praying and worshipping a lot, the devotee will not like doing sins against the wish of God in course of time. By this, the devotee is totally reformed and will not repeat the sins practically. Hence, a devotee worshipping or praying a God will have a chance in long run to get reformation. Hence, recitation of prayer or worship to God may not immediately destroy the sins, but, in long run the continuous recitations and worships may reform the soul so that all his previous sins may get cancelled.

Therefore, you should take the meaning of this statement in a long run only and not as immediate effect, which means that all the sins get cancelled by just reciting the prayer or doing the worship to God. Promoting an ignorant soul in the beginning through such false incentives is not wrong in view of the long run benefit (sarvaarambhaahi… Gita). But, one should clearly understand that the benefit will come only in the long run when the real reformation is achieved and the benefit will not happen immediately by any number of recitations or worships without the real reformation. The Gita says that a soul is reformed through devotion in course of time (kshipram bhavati dharmaatmaa…).

Even a spiritual devotee is unable to control the influence of sin even on his mind. What is the reason?


Swami Replied: The Gita says the same point that the mind associated with senses attracts the mind of even a great spiritual scholar (vidhvaamsamapikarshati). The reason told in the Gita is that the mind, which is associated with senses is inter-related with the external atmosphere. More than this parameter, the most powerful factor is the influence of previous solidified psychological setup. Infact, a sin done mentally is not given any practical punishment because no other soul is practically affected by mental sin. The mental sin is not expressed even in words, which may hurt the other soul. The sin done in mind is punished in the hell by a warning given to the soul along with the related spiritual knowledge. When the same sin is expressed in words, the punishment to the sinner is also given by similar cruel words. For example, Sita spoke very cruel words to Lakshmana that he is following her to the forest with ill intention to marry her. Such words were spoken in the context when Rama went after the golden deer and Lakshmana was not willing to go to save Rama. Lakshmana was such a pure soul that he could not identify any jewel of Sita except the anklets since he was prostrating everyday to her feet only. Rama punished Sita at the end of the war by speaking very cruel words like telling her that she is free to marry Bharata or Vibhishana. By such cruel words, the sin was not completely neutralized since Lakshmana was the greatest devotee to the Lord. The balance punishment was given by Rama to Sita through cruel words of the washerman and by leaving her in the forest. The extent of this punishment shows the love of God towards His purest devotee.

 Without knowing all this background, people mistake Rama for all these actions. Rama is God in human form and God never becomes such sadist. An ordinary human being may doubt the character of his wife and may speak such bad words. But, Rama is omniscient and will never use such bad words because He knows that Sita was very pure in her character. The reason for such cruel words was different as explained above. The sin done through words may require practical punishment also in some cases (like the highest level of devoted Lakshmana). The other souls are sometimes severely affected by words also. Certainly, the sin done through action will have the punishment in action only. The main concept here is that the mental sin hidden in the mind will not get any practical punishment because the other soul is not affected by such mental sin.

But, there is another angle in the case of mental sin. Though it does not affect anybody else due to its inexpression, it has a very dangerous angle. The mental sin will lead to practical sin in course of time because theory is the mother of practice. Therefore, it is better to arrest this mental sin also through right spiritual knowledge from the point of this alternative serious angle.
