Chris-lamic teachings. What do you think?
« on: August 03, 2011, 10:42:45 PM »
Recently I was approached by a friend that was curious about Chris-lamic courses being held at area churches close to her. She assumed that since I am ordained and have a degree in theology she would know what this was all about. I had no idea. I had never heard of it. After looking it up I was a bit confused. I even discussed the concept with a friend of mine who grew up and is still a devote Muslim. Neither she nor I understood how the two worlds of Christianity and Islamic teachings mix to form a cohesive or harmonious movement. She even said she was appalled at the thought of mixing the two as it was a total disregard for the teachings of Islam. I wanted to pose the question here and ask what some others thoughts on the combination teaching of Chris-lamic ideas is?

I am also not aware that this kind of teaching does exist. Maybe they are just creating another form of religion?  I also think it will be difficult to combine teachings that somewhat have little contradictions.

I researched it a bit when I first heard of it. It seemed odd to me. At first I thought it was just awareness courses to cut down on bigotry, hate and fear of Islam. I found out shortly after starting my research that it was, in fact, some sort of mixture of the two religions. They seemed to overlook the entire concepts that contradict each other which alarmed me a bit. Maybe it is a creation of a "new form" of religion but I just don't see how they mix.

I have heard of this, as it does have some, SOME, traction in some African communities, but in these places both the Christians and Muslims condemn this practice, as the religions are not made to blend.

Actually Islam is completing Christianity, which means that Christianity is actually a part of Islam.

Islam is basically made of REAL Christianity with good morals. With prayers of course and etc.

So how are they mixing Christianity and Islam while they have one root?
