Why Do We Not Eat Pork?

Why do Muslims not partake in pork or substances derived from it? I am asking the question out of naivety, but I mean no disrespect whatsoever. I understand that it is partially because they are dirty animals, but is there a more detailed answer that can be given?

You are what you eat. Pigs have a lot of filth going through their bodies that contaminates the meat.
Pigs aren't the only animal Muslims won't eat, btw.

Also Islam isn't the only religion not to eat pork. Judaism, and Christianity, and of course all Vegetarianism Religions also ban it. Sometimes though, the followers just forget these rules or ignore them for their satisfactions.

The reason i know (as far as i know, not sure of it) why they do not eat pork is because they think that pigs are dirty and symbolizes sin as one story/part in the bible. It is said that demons/bad spirits that possessed a man are transferred to pigs by our savior Jesus Christ.
