Wiccan Magic and Rituals
« on: July 30, 2009, 12:25:20 AM »
They say that Wicca is not only a group or rituals but is a religion in itself.
This is one of the oldest forms of magic beginning in the Old English times. It is said to be of Neopagan origin.

Anyone else who knows more about this? I am quite curious about this since there are a lot of movies that have been inspired by Wiccan Magic and Rituals such as Practical Magic, and even the modern Harry Potter.

Do share your opinion and knowledge about the Wiccan craft.

I guess, Wicca is something like a belief system from engaging spells or other activities which harm others. Do you know that they have a believe in, the three-fold law, and wiccan rede?

ah i am a keen fan of harry potter. I believe if you research around Stonehenge you will find some information as there have been rumours they used ti as a central basis for their magical procedures. I think around 1000 Ad is around the right time.

Wiccans are prohibited by their belief system from engaging in spells or other activities which harm others. This is a logical result of Wiccans' belief in their laws, and their commitment to follow their prime rule of behavior.
Many activities that have been traditionally attributed to Wiccans -- from the laying of curses to conducting love spells -- are strictly forbidden to them.

The Wiccans have a religious philosophy of their own. They have rules, moral laws, and codes of conduct. They have a God and a Goddess. Wicca is based on love and respect of nature. And Wiccan spells are nothing by drawing the energies of the self and of nature. This, in brief , is what I understand about Wicca.

The only thing I know about Wicca is that it is a set of ancient beliefs wearing modern robes. In this sense, Wicca is both old and new. The Wiccans believe in God and Goddess energy, they love nature, and they believe in tapping the energies of nature for individual and general good. Of course, they do use spells to do good to themselves and others.
