Is anyone here familiar with Abraham Hicks?  I am definitely a follower of his teachings.  I was just wondering if any of you have heard of him or are followers too.  I have been to one of their teachings.  I found it very inspiring.

Nope, I found this on their website:

The Basis of Your Life is Freedom; the Purpose of Your Life is Joy.

I like that.

Yes, I know who "they" are. I say they because Ester Hicks is channeling Abraham. I don't know if I believe in channeling, but anything is possible. I have a couple of their books and find the material very useful. They usually speak at a conference sponsored by my church, but I have never seen them in person.

Yes Mogenblue, they have all sorts of inspirational sayings and thoughts.  I think that the next time your church sponsors them, Hardison, you should try and go.  They are worth the time and you could get a question answered by Abraham if you wanted to.  When I went, I chose not to ask a question.  I just wanted to be in the same room as them and feel the energy.

I am familiar with Abraham Hicks, have read a couple of books supposedly written by the two people who "channel" Abraham Hicks. Some of what they write about I can agree with, what I don't agree with I simply discard.

You have to be careful when you say you "follow" someone, or follow the philosophy of another. I say that because every human being has the capacity to be great in any endeavor he pursues. If you aspire to be a good writer or a good motivator, the tools are inherent within you; the tools are inherent in all of us. So rather than "follow" anyone, you must understand that you are a co-creator with Divine Intelligence. You have the knowledge, intellect, and the spiritual fortitude of all the so-called great men and women of antiquity, you just have to get in the habit of using your God-given abilities. Once you do that, you'll realize that it's not necessary to follow anyone.
