Religion and You?
« on: August 25, 2009, 03:39:08 PM »
I have read a book in which Keats says that religion is for man and not the vice-verse. We are the son of God and the aim of any religion. What do you think about this philosophy of life?

You're misquoting Keats .. He was not a religious man and did not believe in religion. He's quoted as saying, "I have been astonished that men could die martyrs for religion - I have shuddered at it. I shudder no more - I could be martyred for my religion - Love is my religion - I could die for that."

Your comment about, "We are the son of God and the aim of any religion." "What do you think about this philosophy of life."

What you've stated is not a philosophy because it really doesn't make much sense and, with all due respect, not even grammatically correct.

I find your statement confusing, at best.

Do you believe only males are created in god's image and that religion was created, by god, for men? If so, I cannot agree with you.

I believe that humans created religions and deities to explain nature. As humans better understand nature, religion grows less important.

Is this the sort of response you seek?
