Was Jesus born in December?
« on: December 08, 2010, 03:07:47 AM »
Many believe and many taught that Jesus was born in December, in effect they celebrate Christmas during 25th of December. But what does the bible really teach with regards to this matter? Do Christmas originate from pagan worship?

No he wasn't ,actually no one has evidence that he existed, back to the birth date though, December 25 is the birth date of Krishna who is a Hindu god and predates Jesus by a hundred years, and other ancient Gods from the meditterenean shared the same birth date as well, and you know why they choose December 25? because of the bright Star of Bethlehem  that always shines at his brightest every year at that exact date even before Jesus was said to be born.

He was not born on 25th December. The date was chosen to match the winter solstice - dec 25 was the Roman winter solstice upon establishment of the Julian Calendar. It was a trick to make conversions easier, since if you're a pagan you will more likely accept a messiah who was 'born' during a day you already consider special.

Many other 'gods' and messiah figures were 'born' on the 25th December.

- Chrishna of India was born on December 25, his mother Maia was also virgin.
- Mithra of Persia was born on December 25, as witnessed by Shepherds that brought gifts to honor him. He was said to be a mediator between God and Man.
- The god Horus of Egypt, born on December 25..
- Buddha of India, born on December 25, his mother's name was Maya..

And so on, I think you can see the pattern ;)

It's important, too, to understand that the date we have labeled as "December 25" only approximated the dates listed in the post above mine. The calendar we have now is not the same as that used at the time of Christ, so the dates are only symbolic at best. People need patterns and routine in their lives, so it's only natural that a time would be chosen, especially one that did not need a calendar to calculate.
