What is Wicca?

I am currently trying to have an understanding of many religions and theologies to become more open-minded. However when I try to read things on Wicca from books or on the internet, I'm becoming confused because some speak of witches, some do not, etc.

So please help me to understand or recommend me things to read that have the correct information.

Wicca is a nature-based religion. Most followers worship a God and a Goddess. Wiccans believe in magic and they cast spells for money, health, fertility and love. If you are looking for more information on Wiccan practices, you can read Wicca: The Complete Craft by D.J. Conway or the Encyclopedia of Wicca and Witchcraft by Raven Grimassi. There is also a lot information on Wiccan websites that might help you gain a better understanding.

Wicca includes a religion of people's believe in magic. I have also read a little article on them. Give a search on Internet and you can find a lot of information on them.

It's also a modern religion--while it's patterned after ancient religious practice, it is not ancient itself.
